Research

To support the delivery of Our 2050 World’s objectives, we commissioned the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) and Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformations (CAST) to produce two key reports:

  1.  Accelerating the Transition to Net Zero: Current Perspectives

To gather expert stakeholder interviews and conduct a systematic literature review to reveal the different definitions of Net Zero currently in use amongst non-state actors (including the dimensions and consequences of variation), barriers to achieving net-zero and how to overcome them, and the potential role for standards.

  1.  Net Zero: A Review of Public Attitudes and Behaviours

An up-to-date literature review to outline current expectations amongst the public in relation to Net Zero, the barriers to, and drivers of, action (including the different roles which the public can play), and potential interventions to change behaviours or motivate greater action.
